Location Map of Lazy Days Samui Beach Resort

Our Lamai beach resort is situated on the east coast of the island, south of Chaweng and just south of the centre of Lamai town. It’s a peaceful retreat surrounded by amazing scenery, close to all the major tourist attractions and just a short drive from all the nightlife and shopping opportunities that Chaweng is famous for.

    From Samui Airport (USM)

    • Hotel Distance: Approx. 10km
    • Driving Directions: Follow the signs to Chaweng and then Lamai. Follow the island ring road south through Lamai, past Tesco and Makro stores. Keep following the ring road past Hin Ya and Hin Tai (Grandmother and grandfather Rocks), continue past Fenix Resort and look for a blue and white sign above the road, on the left-hand side. (directly opposite a business sign for ‘Liz Luxen Interpretation Services’).
    • Estimated Taxi Fare: 800-900 THB.

    By air:
There are two domestic airlines that fly to Koh Samui: Bangkok Airways which operates 12 flights a day to and from Bangkok and Thai airways. There are also internal flights to and from Phuket, Chiang Mai, U-Tapao and Pattaya and international flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

    By Train:
If travelling from Bangkok to Samui, a good option is to travel by train. This relaxing journey is made more comfortable by booking an overnight sleeper train. All trains run from Hualamphong Station, Bangkok and we suggest that you buy a combination train/ferry ticket that will include all your transport right through to Samui.

    By bus:
Bangkok to Samui buses leave from the South Terminal in Bangkok. There are V.I.P first-and second-class buses to choose from all with air-conditioning. For an easier journey, buy a bus/ferry combination ticket. The journey takes around 12 hours. There are also buses travelling from and to Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia as well as Singapore.

There is no bus transport around Koh Samui. The cheapest mode of public transport is a songthaew (open sided minivans). If you choose to get a private taxi (usually red and yellow), agree on a price with the driver first. Alternatively, you can use a mobile phone app called Navigo, to organise your taxi transportation.
